Tags...tags...tags!

After a little tidy up of my craft desk, I discovered some pieces of card, which I made at Amy Shaw's workshop last year.  They were made using an Alcohol ink and water technique.  I really loved them but at the time, I couldn't decide what to do with them.
Anyway, as soon as I 'rediscovered' them, they shouted 'TAGS' at me.  So I got busy with some Tim Holtz and Craft Stamper stamps.  I added a Wow embossed edge and some sparkle with gems (on the butterfly and atyou Spica pens highlighting some words and images ... et voila ... a set of bright, colourful tags!

I made this final tag for a lovely blog buddy who recently send my some lovely candy!

Hope you're keeping warm ... it's gonna be even colder tomorrow :(

No image!

I seem to be trying new styles at the moment and they are all out of my comfort zone!  Last week, it was no backing papers and this week, it is no image.
This really was a challenge for me as it seems that ALL my cards have an image as the focal point.  However, I decided to play with a new punch and some papers I bought last year and here is what I made:

Simple but effective - what do you think?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay warm next week, looks like it's going to get very cold :(

No papers!

At the weekend, I went to the lovely Amy Shaw's workshop, where we made a series of one-layer cards.  I've always admired other people's one-layer cards but have never been able to ditch the backing papers and layers!  Anyway, after a morning with Amy, I have put my own spin on a series of cards and this is what I came up with:

I coloured a red circle with Distress Ink through a circle mask ...
... stamped and embossed the stamp (free with Craft Stamper mag), stamped and embossed the sentiment and added a gem.

The next three cards are made the same way but the images are stamped with Archival Black Ink ...
 ... Bird (Tim Holtz)

 ... Hummingbird (Inkadinkado)
... and car (Tim Holtz)

Hope you're all having a fab week xx

A Sad Farewell

It was with a heavy heart that I have decided to step down from the Little Claire Design Team. I have enjoyed working with their beautiful stamps and embellishments so much. I have also enjoyed getting to know the rest of the extremely talented Design Team and I have made some lovely friends.
However, nothing stays the same forever, if it did, we wouldn't have butterflies ...
I'm planning on spending more time on my own personal projects and can't wait to share them with you soon.
Hope you'll come back and visit my blog again,
Hugs

DIY

I have another new release from Little Claire to share with you today. It's called 'DIY' and is a good all-rounder for men's cards:
I kept to a simple colour scheme and used the 'spot' colouring technique; I added a tag, gingham ribbon and Card Candi to complete the card.

New Challenge at Little Claires

It's the start of another challenge at Little Claires and this month, the theme is 'Anything But a Card'.
Here's what I came up with:
I folded a box base and lid from Coordinations cardstock and added a scalloped base for stability.  I used the beautiful Flowerhead stamp, which I coloured with Promarkers and sprayed with Spray and Shine.  To finish I added a Little Beauties Tag, coloured with Promarkers, and gems.

Have a nice weekend xx

Butterfly Window

This week it was my turn to make the weekly blog project for Little Claire and this is what I came up with:

As soon as I saw the beautiful Butterfly stamp, I thought VELLUM, EMBOSSING and SHRINK PLASTIC .... so that's what I did!

I used some Kaleidascope embossing powder from Stampendous which gives a beautiful multicolour effect.  It's hard to capture this on a photo, hope you can see it here:

For the step-by-step instructions on how to make this card, visit the Little Claire Blog.

Nearly Friday AND the wind is supposed to be easing off tomorrow too.  Have a good weekend xx

At Home

Here is the brand new January club stam from Little Claire.  It's called At Home and as well as featuring a fabulous house scene it also has 3 sentiments.  Here are my DT sampe cards:

Stamped with Memento London Fog and Memento Tuxedo Black, coloured with Promarkers and cut out the coloured house.  Papers are GCD Studios.

Stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured with Promarkers, papers GCD Studios.

This is my first attempt at brayering and I'm pretty pleased with it (even if I say so myself!).  I brayered the background for the scene using Big & Juicy Waterfall.  I stamped the snowflakes (Stampendous) with Versamark and brayered the background too.  I watercoloured the scene using the Waterfall ink pad.  The snowflake embellishment was cut with a Marianne die and I added Glamour Dust for the snow.

This card uses just one of the sentiments from the set.  I stamped it with Memento Cocoa, used SEI papers and added a butterfly from my stash.

Wishing you all the best for 2012 xx
