Workshop cards

Today, I went to a workshop hosted by the lovely Maria Simms.  We managed to make three (yes, THREE!) cards at the workshop and prepared the fourth to complete at home.
I decided to make the fourth one straight away because, knowing me, the bits and pieces will still be sitting in a pile next month!
We used Sketchy Lady by Clarity as the main stamp for all the cards ... it's amazing what you can do with just one stamp!
Here are the cards:

Making a moonscape with Versamark and Mica powders ...

... stamping and embossing with gold embossing powder.

Creating a resist background paper and coordinating inky card to use for paper piecing.

Lots of masking in this one!

Clean, simple and beautiful!  Stamping, colouring with Promarkers and adding glitter.

I've had this stamp for about a year now and this is the first time I've used it!! *hangs head in shame*
I'm so glad it's had it's first outing now as it is such a beautiful and versatile stamp.

Hope you've had a lovely weekend xx

Sunday night ... catch up!

Here we are again, it's Sunday night, the X-Factor is on and I CANT just sit and watch it!  Is anyone else like that?  Always needing to be doing something else while watching TV?

Anyway, here are some of my recent makes:

I learnt how to make these fab tea light cards at a Hougie workshop with Kay Rutter.  The drawer contains 4 tea lights.

I designed a wedge shaped envelope to fit the tea light card perfectly.

Well, I'm afraid that's all from me tonight.  Hope you've had a lovely weekend.  I'm back to work on Thursday ... cant believe where SIX weeks have gone!!!
Hugs xx

Workshop Cards

Morning folks. Just a quick post to share cards I made at Maria Simms' fabulous Clarity Stampers NW workshop last weekend.
We used the Diamond Horse and Carriage Kit.

This card involved a bit of brayering, inking over cloud masks and overstamping.

This card was Rae's design.  She showed us a fabby new background technique using folded baby wipes (I cant tell you what I thought they looked like when folded up!!!).  I love this colour combo too.

The final card involved lots of silver embossing (sorry it doesn't show up on the photo), a gorgeous lattice background and lush silky crush ribbon.

Enjoy your weekend xx
