Recent makes

Just popping by to share some cards I made last week.
The first uses a Creative Expressions stamp set that I got at a work shop over a year ago and it's had its first outing!  And just to be different I decided that just because it features a ship, it doesn't have to be just for men!

I used a soft colour palette to make this a feminine card and I think it works.  What do you think?

The second card has been made with a new (to me) Indigo Blu stamp:

I embossed the background with a heart mask and brayered it using coordinating Adirondac inks.  Then, I stamped and painted the heart with the same inks.

Have a great day!

Love this heart!

Just stopping by to share the card I made for my hubby on our very special 20th First Date Anniversary.  Soppy, I know, but we do celebrate this every year :)

I embossed the black background with a heart mask and then used my beautiful heart flower stamp from Indigo Blu with Flitterglu and Winter Dawn gilding flakes.
I added some gems to the centres of some of the flowers and added a computer-generated sentiment.  Simple but effective!

Hope you're having a good week ... two days till the weekend!!

A catch up :)

I went to GNPE at Harrogate on Saturday and shopped till my heart's content!  I also met up with my lovely, crafty friends and had a good natter and a brew.  Here's what I bought:

A lot, I know!   But it is only once a year ... and I promise not to buy anymore till next year (*fingers crossed behind my back*)!!

I've finally had time to photograph cards I have made over the last couple of weeks.  This first one was made using Pan Pastel and some Sheena Douglass stamps.  For my first time using Pan Pastel, I'm pretty pleased with it:

The next two cards were made with a pretty flower stamp by Chloe and coloured with Twinkling H2Os.  The sentiments are by Pink Petticoat:

These three cards were inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  I used some gorgeous new papers from Pink Petticoat and created my own version of the card:

Finally, I used my beautiful Blazing Poppies stamp from Indigo Blu and teamed it up with a sentiment stamp from Chloe.  I stamped and embossed with Platinum Wow powder and coloured the poppies with Twinkling H2Os:

Well, that's me caught up with everything now.
I hope you've had a lovely weekend xx

Blazing Poppies

I've finally had a chance to play with some new Indigo Blu stamps and H2Os today.  I created the background with the H2Os, Shimmer sprays, a mask, stamp and Distress Inks.

The image and sentiment were embossed with Wow Platinum Silver embossing powder.

I'm entering this card into the Indigo Blu blog challenge.

I've had a lovely Mother's Day - I've been spoilt by my boys, hubby cooked tea and I had time to craft - perfect!
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend too xx

Over 3 weeks!!

I CANT believe it's over 3 weeks since I last posted!  I have been so busy travelling up and down the country to look after my mum and trying to fit in school holiday 'stuff' too.  Anyway, I'm glad to report the my mum is doing really well. She seems to be recovering a lot quicker that her first operation las year, so that's a big relief for me.
I also spent THREE whole days sorting out my craft stuff! (and it wasn't even that messy really lol)  I know have a super-organised craft area and homes for everything :)  The downside to that is, thought, that if I 'need' anything else, there might not be anywhere to store it!
I have also made quite a few cards since my last posting, some of them commissions others for personal use and I have even made some Christmas cards ... there, I've said it ... the 'C' word!
Far too much waffling from me now ... here are the cards:

 inside the baby card.

For my son - cant believe he's 15!

Here are my first Christmas cards this year:
Lots of brayering and beautiful stamps from Indigo Blu

More brayering over snowflakes stamped with Versamark:

Phew! What a long post.  I cant even promise the next one will be soon as I'm back at work next week ... the end of SIX weeks!  Where did the time go? Roll on October half term!!!

Happy crafting and hugs xx

Indigo Blu

I bought the fabulous stamp sheet, Nature 1 by Indigo Blu, when I was at Harrogate GNPE last weekend.  It was the butterfly that sold it to me but, as you can see, it didn't make it onto the card!  It would have been too crowded.
Anyway, I created a background with my Distress Inks and spritzed it withe water.  Then I stamped the images with Stazon and used a paint brush and water to remove the colour from the flowers and clouds. I stamped the plants with Distress Ink onto the right of the card blank and also inked around the edge of the sentiment.

I really enjoyed the show at Harrogate and managed to meet up with some of my lovely crafty blogging and Facebook friends.

Have a fab weekend xx
