Ruby Wedding

Just a quick post to share a card I've been working on this week.  The photos really don't do it justice - it's a lot more spakly than it looks here:

I cut the large heart, welded heart, swirls, roses and flourishes with my Cameo.  The computer-generated sentiment was cut with a Lacey Oval Nestability.

I added a richer colour and sparkle to all elements (including the mats) with Cosmic Shimmer spray:

I used 40 roses altogether - 39 on the heart and a single rose embellishment.

I would love to take all the credit for this card but I was inspired by a box frame made by the lovely Vicky.  Go and take a peek at her blog, she has made some gorgeous projects.

One day to go now until I finish work for the Easter Holidays ... yay!!

Before I go, I'd just like to welcome my new Followers ... thank you for taking the time to read my blog xx

Hugs xx

Indigo Blu

I bought the fabulous stamp sheet, Nature 1 by Indigo Blu, when I was at Harrogate GNPE last weekend.  It was the butterfly that sold it to me but, as you can see, it didn't make it onto the card!  It would have been too crowded.
Anyway, I created a background with my Distress Inks and spritzed it withe water.  Then I stamped the images with Stazon and used a paint brush and water to remove the colour from the flowers and clouds. I stamped the plants with Distress Ink onto the right of the card blank and also inked around the edge of the sentiment.

I really enjoyed the show at Harrogate and managed to meet up with some of my lovely crafty blogging and Facebook friends.

Have a fab weekend xx

Pink Petticoat meets Stampin' Up!

Here are a couple of cards I made for Mothers' Day, using a fabulous new download from Pink Petticoat.  The papers are PP too, I love the grey and bright pink together!

I used irridescent mica powder to add sparkle to the flowers and swirls:

I also made a set of mini cards for my mum, using PP papers and SU punch and stamps:

Have a fab weekend and Happy Mothers' Day for tomorrow xx

Fabulous Dandelions and Mica Powders

I made the following cards using a Dandelion stamp  by Chloe Endean and some new Mica powders.  I used both white and black backgrounds to get different effects with the Mica powders.

First, I stamped the Dandelion with Versamark and embossed with Wow embossing powder.  Then, I created a background on white card by spritzing various shades of copper Mica powder and dried it with a heat tool.  Finally, I stamped more Dandelions with Memento London Fog and added gems, ribbons and sentiments:

For the next cards, I stamped the Dandelion several times with Versamark and brushed Mica powders over them.  To seal the powders, I sprayed the card with Spray and Shine.  Finally, I added gems and sentiments:

Have a good week xx

Ballerinas

Made using my Cameo to cut the ballerinas and to sketch and cut the sentiment.
Other supplies: Swiss Dots embossing folder; gems; pearlescent card from stash.

I have entered these cards into the Stuck on you sketches challenge

Silver Wedding Anniversary

I was recently asked to make a 25th Wedding Anniversary card, incorporating an original wedding invite and using blue as an accent colour!  The bridesmaids' dresses were bright blue.  Mmmm, this was a challenge because I didn't want to damage the invite in anyway but I still had to attach it to the card and embellish it.
This is what I came up with:

The matted layers are pearlescent cream card, silver mirri card and blue Bazzill ...

I attached the wedding invite using a 2 in 1 glue pen and secured it closed with an organza ribbon bow and a heart (attached to matted layers only) ...

The roses, flourishes and heart were cut on my Cameo, coloured with Promarkers and sprayed with Silver Spray & Sparkle ...

I printed the sentiment in grey ink onto smooth white card, cut out with a scalloped Nestie and glittered with Silver Spray & Sparkle ..,.

I also added a panel inside for writing on.  To finish off I added gems and a silver 25 peel off.

Hope you're all having a fabby week ... only one day to go till the weekend ... yayy :)
