More Shabby Chic!

I was so inspired by the workshop I attended yesterday, that in the afternoon I made some shabby chic cards using my Little Claire's stamps:

'Drive my car'

'Dahlia'

I made my own background papers, distressed and embossed them and added ribbon, gems and Distress Stickles to finish them off!

Shabby Chic Floral workshop

Yesterday, I attended a Shabby Chic Floral workshop. It was run by Trish Latimer (she is featured in this months Craft Stamper) and she is just brilliant! She is so down to earth and explains things clearly and always encourages you to try your own ideas.

I learnt quite a few new techniques, including dying lace and ribbon, making my own backing paper, using distress Stickles and I even learnt to use a Big Shot!! I though my faithful old Wizard was simple but the Big Shot was effortless....a change may be on the cards!

Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your weekend x

February Club Stamp

I love the new February club stamp from Little Claire's Designs. Its called 'Big Hugs' and, as with all of Little Claire's stamps, it is so versatile. It could be used for birthdays, get well, or even 'just because' cards.

For my first card, I used papers (free from a magazine), pink and green Bazzill, MS loop punch and card candy. I stamped the image and sentiment with Memento ink and coloured it with Promarkers. I love pink and green together :)

How cute is this little mouse?
For my second card, I stamped and water coloured the image with Distress inks and mounted it with 3D foam. Then I stamped the sentiment (which comes with the set) and distressed it using the same ink and added a ribbon - et voila!

It was my birthday last week and I had loads of lovely pressies from my family and friends - including some scrummy crafting goodies :)
The thing about birthdays though is the Thank You cards!! I had quite a lot to make, so I decided to make batches and a few special ones too!

Don't you just hate it when that happens?

How many times has it happened to you? You plan on making a set of cards, you print out the elements, you find coordinating embellishments THEN you cut your card wrong and you realise it's your LAST piece !!!
Aaaargh! Anyway, I think I got away with it - the colours seem to coordinate. What do you think?

Over at Little Claire's Designs, there will be a new monthly challenge on their blog. The first challenge starts on Saturday 5th February and Little Claire is giving away some candy to celebrate!

All you need to do, for a chance to win the stamps and flowers in the pic, is add the photo and link to the candy in your sidebar and become a follower if you're not already. It would be great if you would also blog about our new challenges to help us get the word around, but it's not a requirement for the candy. Then just add a link to your blog below.

Merci

I'm just loving these 3"x3" scalloped cards, they are so handy for little notelets. This card was made using black embossed cards stock; bow; gems (all from my stash) and the fabulous Simply Delightful download from Pink Petticoat.
I made it for someone who has greatly influenced my crafting over the years and who was kind enough to send me a gift recently. Hope she likes it :)
